 Chevrolet WO38 Pacific Fire Engine      
As the name implies these were Chevrolet C60S based and built by Holden. Several have survived.
This fine example belongs to Neil and Brenda Groover and their two sons, Ben and Mark of Mundoona, Yass who crewed it on the VP day run to Canberra in August 2005. The truck had belonged to the Berramangra Bush Fire Brigade near Gundagai in New South Wales. They have restored it in it's RAAF colour.
The original colour can be seen on the dashboard. It was built by GM-H in Melbourne.
Special instructional plate on top of engine cover reveals the designation. Standard Canadian gearshift instruction plate.
Sidevalve 4 cylinder pump motor. Detailed instruction plate located on the pump motor housing. According to this they were planned to be built on the Ford chassis also.
This Pacific fire engine belongs to Jim Bennie on the Murray River in Victoria.
