White Scout Car recovery exercise    Related pages: The outside collection.
These images are from John Belfield's collection. John explained he placed the Scout Car in the dam as a recovery exercise. When his men arrived they asked where the vehicle was and John simply pointed at the water. According to John the joke was on him as the others were unable to secure the cables underwater and he had to plunge into the cold water to do it himself, to the amusement of the crew who laughed at John's shriveled body.
In she goes, pushed in by a rod. In another recovery the crew are pondering what to do with the sunken scout car, which was the Australian modified AOP version.
Back on land, the modified top is evident. In another interesting pic, the Scout car is seen in the process of rolling over, dust going everywhere.
